Showering Reflections

Niki: "Do you ever get bored in the shower?  Like, when you're waiting for your conditioner to set?"

Me: "OMG Yes! I thought I was the only one!"

Niki: "I try to tell myself it's relaxing, like 'Enjoy the hot water, take deep breaths, enjoy the scent of the soap.' but no...."

Me: "Yeah, I've gotten to the point where I loofah my feet while I'm waiting."

Niki Like Woah: "Oh, good idea."

And then the conversation died for a while.

So readers, do you get bored in the shower?  What are your shower reflections?

I usually find myself trying to shower as fast as possible so that I don't think too much and stress myself out about school, or work, or lack of work, or boys, or joblessness, or work.

I seem to think about my lack of job a lot. . . OH NO! I need to go take a shower.

I wish I was kidding . . .

  1. I usually put in my conditioner , then while waiting for it to set, shave my legs or exfoliate my face. I have always done something while waiting for my conditioner to set. I think the only think worse than showering is moisturizing your face and brushing/drying your hair afterwards. that drives me crazy!! I just want to be nice and dry so I can put on my makeup dang it.

  2. I try to use my showers as an opportunity to daydream or think about potential story ideas. It doesn't always work--sometimes I just end up thinking about more mundane stuff--but oftentimes I can entertain myself like this for basically the entire shower. The only problem is remembering the ideas once I get out; it's kind of hard to jot things down when you're in a shower, you know? :-p Someday, when I have my own house, I'm going to get some kind of waterproof whiteboard and stick it to the inside of my shower...
