Unwritten Rules of Dating: No longer unwritten!!!

The unwritten rules of dating have been a constant aggrevation to people for centuries.  It has become a constant trial-and-error thing that you only know of after the mistake has been made, or the embarrassment has already happened.

This is my attempt to help mankind:
(If you think of any not on here, let me know.)

1.  If you are not officially in a relationship, and are neither together nor apart yet (this usually is in the early stages of dating,) and in that in-between place, DO NOT call on Valentines Day.  Only call if you are officially together.  But roses or chocolates are better.

2.  In a break-up, the breaker needs to be the first to call the breakee.  NEVER the other way around.

3.  Never divulge info on exes without being asked.  Even then, divulge sparingly.

4.  Do not paint or draw a picture of your loved one unless you are super committed.  As in, married.  This has, in every instance I know of, happened just prior to a break-up.

5.  Men: Follow up on a date.  This includes making sure she got home safely, and merely saying you had a good time.  This does not have to include an invitation for a second date, it is just a common courtesy.  Day-after is a good time to do this.  It is NEVER too late to follow up.

6. THE 24 HOUR RULE.  How long do you wait, after meeting someone to call them?  This is subject to great controversy.  Is it a 24 hour rule, 48 hour rule, or 72 hour rule?  I like Chellci's version:  If you meet on Thursday or Friday, 24 hrs is fine. If you meet on Sunday, wait at least till Wednesday.
So pretty much, calling during the week seems desperate unless it has been a few days. Calling after 24 hours on weekends to hang out is awesome.
